Types of Accent Walls

Did you know there are dozens of different accent walls. Here we layout some of our favorite styles.

Wainscoting

Wainscoting is installing wooden trim and panels in a pattern along the lower wall. It is topped off with a chair rail, which is a horizontal strip of molding that spans the circumference of a room.

Geometric

Geometric design is a fun trend that focuses on the simplistic beauty of mixing certain shapes, lines, and curves together for creative results.

Board & Batten

Board and batten is a pattern consisting of square or rectangle sheets of material joined by thin braces called battens.

Herringbone (Traditional)

Herringbone, an enduring pattern used in a range of contexts from textiles and fabrics to the world of flooring. It’s a design classic.

Chevron (Modern Herringbone)

Similar to herringbone but panels are cut at a 45 degree angle instead of a 90 degree angle.
